What Are the Unani Medicines

07/23/2021

Which are the Unani medicines? Well, they are medicines of the Eastern world, but they are not really "Celtic" in the classic sense of the word. The word "Unani" doesn't point towards any particular type of medicine, as the spelling indicates, but it points to a medicinal system that predates even the traditional medical system of Pakistan.

The Unani medicines are said to be the first medicine. This might have been true if we had not divided the Ayurvedic system of medicine into two parts. The primary system, the Avanti, was founded by B.K.S. Patanjali. It is called Avanti because it bases its treatment on the use of a few select herbs and minerals that are supposed to produce harmony in the body's energies.

The secondary system, the Surya, or herbal, medicine, bases its treatment on the knowledge of plants and their effects on human health. Thus, while the primary ayurvedic medicine bases itself on the effects of the mineral elements on the human body, the secondary medicine bases itself on the claims of certain plants that their ingestion will somehow elicit specific effects on the body. In other words, in both ayurvedic medicine systems, what works for one person may not work for another. That is why, even when the claims of the herbal ingredients are taken literally, different combinations of plants or minerals are proposed as remedies. This is also true in the ayurvedic medicines that are used for the treatment of different diseases.

It is difficult to find an exact list of the Hakeem Ajmal Khan since many of the herbs that are used to treat different ailments have not been discovered. However, there are a few basic medicines that are used in almost all ayurvedic medicine systems. These include Arogya-Vardhini, Medohar-Guggulu, Triphala, Punarnavadi-Guggulu, Punarnavadi-Qadha, Gokshuradi-Guggulu, Punarnavadi-Qadha, Gomutra-Haritaki and Chandrakala-Ras. All these are used to treat the major ailments, though the exact proportion of each may vary from one disease to another.

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus), Bala (Sida cordifolia) and Naagbala (Grewia hirsuta) are used to treat anxiety, fatigue, and stress. Ashwagandha has some strong anti-inflammatory properties as well. It can be used along with other ayurvedic medicines to treat all types of conditions. Bala is an important medicine that not only relieves pain and other acute problems but also treats anemia, ulcers, and kidney problems. This medicine can also be used to reduce the side effects of chemotherapy and other treatments for cancer.

Ashwagandha or Withania somnifera can be used to treat cancer of the lymph and bone. The chemotherapy therapies depend mainly on the immune system to weaken the immune system. As a result, the body is not able to fight against bacterial and fungal infections. This leads to an increased vulnerability to diseases like cancer. Medicines like Ashwagandha helps to boost the immunity system and thus improve the body's resistance to diseases.

Guggulu and Punarnava are using to treat the causes of tiredness and weakness in the body. They stimulate the adrenal glands, which are responsible for providing the body with energy. When there is an adequate supply of energy, the body can work more efficiently and reduces the risk of diseases and complications caused by lack of energy.

Anas knew as Pakistani ginseng is another important part of the traditional treatment for multiple sclerosis. This plant has been used for curing many types of disorders, especially those related to the nervous system. Ginseng has properties that make it useful for treating depression and anxiety. It is also useful in treating menstrual disorders and is thus highly recommended by those who are undergoing hormonal treatments for women. All these are some of the basic herbal medicine in Pakistan which can be used as a part of the treatment for MS.
